Not Enough TIME!!!!

If you live in the northern hemisphere, you're entering that time of year when the days are longer... and yet, life might also be more social: weekend gatherings, various holidays, long weekends (short weeks-- see last week's More Answers... newsletter).

And maybe you're the type of person who uses sunset as your indicator for leaving work, or feeling like it's still light outside at 7:30pm means you have plenty more to do!

The May 18, 2025 More Answers... newsletter focused on time as a construct to manage, but my ask of you was to PROTECT and LIVE your time versus MANAGE and SPEND your time. I hope you are focusing on some of that as we head into what can often feel like the busiest time of the year (end of year holidays notwithstanding).

As I begin Season 2 , there's a theme that is emerging, and much of it is about time. The two most prevalent themes are:

1. "I Don't Have Enough Time!"

Some of the questions are very much about time management, but some are very philosophical in nature and others are about how the person asking the question has a different view and attitude of time than their boss has, which creates tension. Nonetheless, the persistent theme is many people feeling that they just don't have enough time-- even with the longer days in the northern hemisphere.

We'll get into that in the next few weeks.

2. "Work-Life Balance Doesn't Exist"

I have never thought of work-life balance as a realistic construct or idea. The US society (and many others) isn't/aren't structured for it.

Sure, if we ever get back to 9am-5pm workdays, with commutes within 30 minutes, and childcare or parent care more accessible and flexible, and home chores truly split across everyone living at home, and partnerships where BOTH parents can pursue their dreams (and leisure time) or ALL siblings can support aging parents, and several other life-support services are available to redistribute the life needs we all attend to before and after work, then yeah-- maybe a "work-life balance" is possible.

But for most, the goal isn't balance: it's harmony. It's about finding away for it all to click and work together while enabling hobbies, leisure time, and various other life interests. It's making all aspects of life shuffle into gether-- work together. Fit.

Season 2 will explore a lot of these area and of course offer additional resources for further review, learning, assistance.

That said, I want to THANK YOU for your support!! Twelve episodes are DONE, and that feels amazing. My newsletter subscriptions have tripled in the last week, and podcast downloads are steadily increasing each week. It's encouraging to feel like I may be making a difference!

And don't forget: if you have a business challenge or workplace issue-- Ask Christa!

BOOSTER FOR YOUR WEEK!!!

No Booster this week, because of my own time constraints (my oldest daughter's birthday today!!)

See you next week!!!

With kindness,
Christa
